No matter what happens, God always keeps his promises. When Christ said, “I am with you always, to the close of the age (Mt 28:20), he guaranteed that his presence and help would always be with us. Pope Benedict XVI tells us, “The Risen-One explicitly entrusted to the Apostles the task of making disciples of all the nations, guaranteeing his presence and help to the end of the age (cf. Mt 28:19ff.).” Pope Benedict assures us that we too, though differently from the Apostles, have a true, personal experience of the presence of the Risen Lord in His Church today. In this year’s conference we will concentrate on how we can recognize Christ’s living and saving presence in our lives through looking at His Church and its many gifts like the Magisterium, Apostolic Tradition, and Sacred Scripture.
One of Saturday's Speakers, Eduardo Verástegui was invited to the Youth 2000 International Walsingham Prayer Festival 2009. Youth 2000 is an independent, international initiative that helps young adults aged 16-30 plug back into God at the heart of the Catholic Church. Read more >
As we can see, through His Church, God is with us in so many ways! But why is it then that we are not always aware of His presence in our lives? God is always with us, but the question is, are we always with Him? We will explore this and many other questions as our speakers enlighten us and share their thoughts on how we can stay close to God and find ways to make Him more present in our lives.
Fr. Bernard Gorges will be with us this year as our Emcee. He will challenge you to find the answers and keys to the activities we have planned to help you practice keeping God “front and center” in your life.
