Fr. Tad Pacholczyk

Father Tad Pacholczyk (pronounced pa-HOLE-check) (b. 1965) is a leading spokesman for the Catholic Church on the issue of embryonic stem cell research. He is the director of education for the National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia. He earned a doctorate in neuroscience from Yale University and holds four undergraduate degrees in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, chemistry and philosophy. He also holds two advanced theological degrees from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

Ordained in 1999 as a priest for the Diocese of Falls River, Mass., Fr. Pacholczyk has testified before state legislatures on the issue of embryonic stem cell research. He was also outspoken in defense of the life of Terri Schiavo.
